MORNING PRACTICE FOR SENIOR BOYS

CHANGE IN AFTERNOON PRACTICES FOR SENIOR

There will be a change in afternoon practices for SOME pupils. Instead of Friday sessions ONLY, now we are going to choose some boys to attend the MONDAY sessions as well to ensure that they get enough guidance under Mr luo, before we start the audition for SYF (which section they are more suitable for - Violin 1, 2 or 3).

Cello and Double bass - Cello boys and our Double bassists are required to attend the MONDAY sessions as well as the usual Friday. Our Cellists need a lot of practice before they are suitable to play the pieces for SYF. They are the precious few, so we want to ensure that they are monitored well and provided with more guidance.

Therefore, I will be giving out the schedule to the boys on Monday when school reopens, stating clearly which days they are required to attend.
Afternoon practice resumes on Friday, 1st July 2011.

Morning Practice

Dear All,
Please take note that morning practices will now be held everyday starting from first day of Term 3 (27.06.2011). This is a school initiative to monitor pupils' progress and ensure that they do not lag behind as SYF practice starts this year.

Please be reminded to bring the small notebook for the teachers to check everyday. It is very comforting to see that those boys who have showed us the notebooks, take pride in their session at home :). Thank you parents.

Change of Potluck Venue

Dear Parents,
I have decided to change the venue for the potluck session. We shall just have it in the canteen after some thinking.
Thus, the senior boys will adjourn to the canteen at 3pm after their practice.
See you then! :)

Musical Tickets

Dear Parents,
Our boys are going for a musical learning journey on 5th August, to the Republic Polytechnic, to watch the CHS Musical : Blast from the Past.
As such, the school is collecting $20 (subsidised) from each student, from all aesthetic groups.
Our Violin 1s are not expected to pay as they will be the section to represent strings in the musical on 5th and 6th August.
Pls return me the reply slips with cash or cheque by Wednesday 8th June.
I seek your understanding on this matter.

Potluck cum gathering

Dear parents of BOTH Junior and Senior teams,

I have given out a letter to the senior boys with regards to change in practice timing and the details of the potluck. The Junior boys will receive theirs on Monday 6th June.

Change of Practice session on 10th June
Due to the potluck session, I have shifted the practice for senior boys to 12pm. Therefore, they will practice from 12pm to 3pm, before heading to the potluck venue.

Potluck and fun!
After the practice on 10th june, the teachers will bring the boys to the venue.
Place: The new MacDonalds at Bishan Park
Time: 3pm onwards

It is a potluck session, so we hope that parents could show off their culinary skills and share the goodies with us :) We will meet the parents and the Junir boys at the venue itself :)
